Mark Bell, The Homeless Poet, Publishes His First Book
Mark Bell retrieves the first proof of his book "The Hobo Speaks" out of the I Street Press at the Sacramento Public Library. After a story featuring his life and work was published in The Sacramento Bee in January a group of people came together to help make his dream of publishing a book a reality. Working at a pace as brisk as his 5 mile walk home to his tent on the American River Parkway, Bell provided all the written material and illustrations for the book while volunteers provided him with a laptop to work on, editing, design and funding.
