Officer-involved shooting in Land Park
A Sacramento officer returned fire after his police dog was shot Friday morning in Land Park, fatally wounding the auto theft suspect. Police said the dead man is in his 30s and a resident of Chico. A police spokesman said the shooting occurred about 10:30 a.m. Friday near Riverside and Robertson Way. The incident began when police began a pursuit of the stolen vehicle suspect. At some point the police dog was shot by the man and the officer handler of the canine returned fire.
